Order of Time

Performance + Media + Sculpture

What if time is not a characteristic of the universe, but rather the perspective from which we experience the world we belong to. If we allow fear and other emotions pull us away from comprehending the true essence of time, then we fail to understand what time is in relation to us. What if instead we begin to confront and understand the fears and emotions that time provokes in us? Can we then transcend our conventionally suffocating relationship with time?

If time is considered to be created by the perception of change, then using art to explore the quantum understanding of our relationship with time raises profound questions about the nature of our existence. The quantum realm is one of uncertainty, challenging our ability to fully comprehend the intricacies of existence. The experiencing of our interconnectedness forces us to challenge the notion of isolated individuality, hinting at the possibility that we may exist in some form beyond the conventional boundaries of begin/end - ultimately allowing us to heal and reshape our relationship to the transcendent nature of life and death.

The unconventional movement and pace of the performer creates a palpable weight to the passing of time and the perception that time is what leads towards death, creating a natural resistance for the viewer. The performance also challenges the perceived function and form of the body, creating a temporary window to look inward more deeply into our fixed relationship with its function and acceptability. The performance ultimately leaves the viewer with a sense  of lightness upon its completion, inviting the viewer to question and reevaluate their perceptions of time, transformation and the subtle mysteries of our human existence. This is an extended body of performance work deeply committed to the exploration of impermanence and change, through the lens of healing soundscapes, performance, photography and sculpture.
